September Sunshine


Saturday night knitting spot

What's up with the weather? Four days of lovely sunshine and today's temperature was 21 degrees, perfect. Perfect for a spot of knitting in the garden. I bought some Louisa Harding Akiko yarn last week, it's beautiful, soft and the colour is just lovely - denim meets Aqua. It's knits up well and the blackberry stitch beanie is just perfect, soft and snugly. You can find the pattern here
I'm off to the Broads in October and although I've already knitted two of these for myself, it's always good to have a new colour and it looks great in the sunshine.

I've now gifted the latest granny stripe blanket to my niece Megan who's off to Bath next week to start her first year in uni. She loved the blanket which was such a relief, I've been making it on and off for almost six months alongside my granny square blanket and I managed to finish both of them in the same week. I'm sitting under mine tonight as it's chilly now.

The local farmers market is still around and I showed my support this morning buying home made pies from my friend Linda and local veg - it's pie and mash for dinner today (yummy) oh and some cakes for later. I'm looking forward to the next one in October.

Looks like a great weekend. I love to support the local farmers market when possible, a plus for the carbon footprint too.

Loving the blanket xx my daughter is off to Uni next year and I'm dreading it! I might crochet her a blanket to remind her of home. Although I think I'm the one that's going to need the comforting not her!!

I am definitely in need of a blanket for my settee yours looks just right. Will have to put my thinking cap on for that one when I've finished everything else. I've finished one Elmer blanket (will post later in the week but is already on IG) but still another one possibly two to make for babies due at the end of the year and beginning of next. I've also been making a little aran jacket for a friends little granddaughter and I have another little aran to make her for xmas. It's all go on the crafting front at the moment.

Denim Daisy Granny Square construction

And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. My granny tee is finished

You might remember this post from about ten days ago, well I've now finished my 4th granny tee and I'm currently finishing off my fifth one this week that I stared last year (oops). Indigo Blue came about when I took delivery of my Scheepjes Skies mini skien box (heavy/aran) and I'm in love with this yarn! I was sitting watching a film when I had the sudden urge to crochet another Granny Tee by Sarah (aka annaboos house) The mini skeins are perfect and I ended up using two boxes plus a larger 100g skein for the sleeves and joining. It has amazing drape and the colours are a subtle shift of indigo that is going to look fabulous over a white t shirt with jeans and flip flops. Perfect partnership and so bang on trend for the tie dye look that's about for festivals for this summer.  The total cost was around GBP35 not including delivery and I think for a custom made jumper that's not a bad price.
