B is for Broad Bean

If you thought broad beans were not worth growing, think again. One packet of dwarf variety about 20 plants (some sown later) and I had enough to make this recipe. There are still lots of little broad beans growing. They were delicious and I've added Broad Bean Sutton to my seed list to sow this autumn for an earlier crop next year! I've also used them in a stir fry and they are so versitile.

My first recipe containing broad beans fresh from the garden is normally risotto. Instead we had them with Lamb on Sunday. There is always Friday evening!

Broad beans are my favourite vegetable - I can still see in my mind the rows of broad beans my dad used to grow in our garden. I remember black fly being a big pest, but your plants looks so healthy. Enjoy!

Ooh, I love broad beans! I remember shelling them as a kid, and my Mum always made white sauce to have with them for Sunday dinner.
