I've given up on knitting (for now) as my wrists ache too much! I've found that I can crochet for hours without any problems and my blanket has grown a lot in a week. After patiently making lots of granny squares I decided to try a different approach (after reading my new crochet book
Crochet Workshop by Erika Knight). If you want to buy a copy I suggest this link as its only £4.99. Instead I sewed together two granny squares to create the starting point for an oblong blanket. Each round has a different colour and I'm not really following any colour repeats instead just picking up another colour and joining in. I do have limited colours because I've managed to collect some Debbie Bliss Rialto DK on various web sites for half the normal price, but I think the colours are working. Since this picture was taken on Monday (I had a day off) its grown quite a bit. I took my blanket to my inlaws, the picture was taken on my lap and you can just see my foot poking out the end! I'm finding it much quicker than joining lots of squares. I feel I've failed a bit but maybe I can try it again another time. For now I'm happy with the result and when I gain more confidence I may even try a ripple blanket as seen
here at Attic 24.
Enjoy your weekend, its turned chilly again. Amanda x
