I've given up on knitting (for now) as my wrists ache too much! I've found that I can crochet for hours without any problems and my blanket has grown a lot in a week. After patiently making lots of granny squares I decided to try a different approach (after reading my new crochet book Crochet Workshop by Erika Knight). If you want to buy a copy I suggest this link as its only £4.99. Instead I sewed together two granny squares to create the starting point for an oblong blanket. Each round has a different colour and I'm not really following any colour repeats instead just picking up another colour and joining in. I do have limited colours because I've managed to collect some Debbie Bliss Rialto DK on various web sites for half the normal price, but I think the colours are working. Since this picture was taken on Monday (I had a day off) its grown quite a bit. I took my blanket to my inlaws, the picture was taken on my lap and you can just see my foot poking out the end! I'm finding it much quicker than joining lots of squares. I feel I've failed a bit but maybe I can try it again another time. For now I'm happy with the result and when I gain more confidence I may even try a ripple blanket as seen here at Attic 24.
Enjoy your weekend, its turned chilly again. Amanda x
And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. Just waiting for the cold spell so that I can wear it out (rather than around the garden when its cooled down in the evenings!). I haven't written a pattern as such just some helpful notes from my pad. If people want to know how to construct one have added some notes below. As you know the Daisy Granny Square is the design of Sue Pinner from her book Granny Squares published 2013. I do love Sue's book, its packed with so many projects and ideas and the photos are beautiful. The daisy granny square pattern is quite addictive and you soon have a small pile of them in no time! I have an idea to make another one for the autumn in the same Debbie Bliss Rialto DK yarn but all edged in shade 90 honey, I have enough in my stash. Construction Notes: You need to make 18 granny squa
