I'm back!

After a week in bed with the dreaded flu (yes real flu) I am almost back to my normal self. I just have to shake off a sinus infection and finish off a course of antibiotics! So to cheer me up my friend Lisa took me out to a local craft fair this morning then to The Barge for a pot of tea and home made cakes, it was just what I needed and even the rain didn't spoil it. Thank you Lisa + Caroline :)

Last night I decided to start a new project, this time for myself. My sister bought me a Cath Kidston book last year for my birthday and I keep looking at it but haven't actually managed to make anything. I'm really into her stuff now and love the fabric. Now I have a patchwork bag in the making! It's going to take me ages, I hope to have it finished by my birthday in May! I think it's way too nice to be just for knitting stuff.

My six chillies are starting to get their second set of leaves, must start something else off next week.

Sorry to hear that you've been ill, real flu is so bad. Glad to hear that you're now on the road to recovery. Your patchwork bag is going to be gorgeous, I love the fabric.

hi Jo. Yes it knocked me for six, unlike me to be in bed all week. Lots to catch up on, managed to do some more of my patchwork bag tonight. I just love the colours and putting them together, 15 done now.

Denim Daisy Granny Square construction

And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. Just waiting for the cold spell so that I can wear it out (rather than around the garden when its cooled down in the evenings!). Easy eyelet yoke

I’ve recently started my first top down jumper and I don’t know why I didn’t start one sooner!  Trying on my easy eyelet yoke sweater in June! It’s so chilly I was quite happy to try it on. With just 4 inches of the body to knit before the border and then the sleeves. I’ve knitted in hand dye Aran yarn from Fiona Sew Happy Creative it’s beautiful to knit with and I’m mixing up some skeins I had in my stash including Bee Happy. I’ll use this for the sleeves blending into a similar colour for the end of the sleeves. Really happy with the fit. I chose the Xl size with 5.5mm KnitPro Cubics tips. I think it will need 600g in total (roughly size 14) pattern by Knitatude if you’ve always wanted to try top down knitting I recommend you try this pattern
