crochet scarf update

Well I was supposed to finish the crochet scarf before starting another one! I find it impossible to stick to one project. So whilst I was enjoying my new love of crochet I decided to add a frilly edge to a new scarf I made a little while back (and hadn't finished) So here is the Patons Jet Lolly Orange frilly scarf, and just in time because it's freezing cold again...

So back to the original scarf this evening ..... and I'm almost half way round with the crochet edge. For a first attempt I'm quite pleased. The pattern did state to use Sublime merino yarn, so I'm going to crochet the next one using the correct yarn. I've found a lovely shade of blue on eBay because John Lewis didn't have it in stock on Friday. Oh well just have to wait a few days.

Last night I had dinner at my sisters house. Whilst she was preparing our toad in the hole (which was yummy) I had a craft evening with Yazmin (my niece) and her little friend. I took a bag of felt, buttons, ribbon and pretty sparkly cotton. We sat and chatted and made little felted valentine hearts! I gave mine to Megan (my other neice) and made it into a key ring for her. We decided to do another craft evening in Feb to make Mothers Day gifts.

Denim Daisy Granny Square construction

And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. Just waiting for the cold spell so that I can wear it out (rather than around the garden when its cooled down in the evenings!). Feather & Fan scarf free knitting pattern

This month I'm getting ahead with gifts (dare I say it Christmas in July!) I had some fabulous merino DK yarn in my stash from Biffsugar Yarns in the colourway Waterlilly (225m per 100g) so I decided to knit a simple 4 row feather and fan scarf. The yarn is actually slightly heavier than DK (I think) so the scarf is knitting up beautifully and very soft, snuggly and bouncy.
