Traditional granny square blanket

Anyone that knows me, know I am just crazy about granny squares. I think I even dream about them! You can't beat a humble granny square blanket in my opinion. Since learning to crochet them straight, that's all I''ve been doing! just 8 more rows then its border time! The neat trick is to flip over after each row, simple! Oh and start in the right hand corner. I found this great tutorial over at ThePatchworkheart blog, Heather is very helpful and has always been an inspiration to me. My latest creation is an up-to-date on trend baby blanket with a vintage feel to it. Its crochet in beautiful Debbie Bliss Rialto DK that's so soft and warm. I've chosen soft grey, oyster, rose, duck egg green, vintage pink, pink and petunia. There is one other pink in there, but because its been discontinued I can't find the colour. I did use one of the original grey balls then managed to match the dye lot at my local yarn shop and started this granny shrug or cocoon jumper a little while back. Its growing slowly because I decided to use hook size 3.75 to keep it less open as the chunky wool suggest. Also using cotton it will be cool and lovely to pack for my ...

Warm and breezy with such lovely autumnal colours that I am missing from my office desk. fallen leaves some leaves still on the tree outside my office fallen leaves, a sign of autumn I stated my Moss Stitch snood last night, and I've almost knitted through one ball. I love the colour and its so soft. Should have it finished this weekend and I plan to knit another one in a different colour. Enjoy your Halloween, I'm off for a swim, my local pool will be empty! Moss stitch snood in progress
