Isn't it lovely when someone new visits your blog and leaves a lovely message about your projects. Made me smile this morning when I read a new message left by a blogger who's work I had admired earlier this week. I always admire other people's knitting, crochet, sewing and let the person know via their blog. I'm proud of my achievements and teaching myself these crafts, I like to share my love of colour and to openly admit I hoard wool! (don't we all?) I drive my husband Ian mad with the amount I buy, don't use half of it and leave in the loft! The say oh I have found a use for, can you get the ladder down for me? But he too admires my finished pieces, that take me many hours to complete and likes the fact my crochet blankets keep him warm on chilly evenings and Sunday afternoons.
It's funny after all the years of looking at other people's crochet people are now looking at mine. I like that, it gives me a warm hug, a big smile to know that people I've never met before enjoy my passion for colour and creativity. I just wish I'd taken it up years ago. So if you're reading this and haven't taught yourself to crochet or knit, go and do it. Not only is it good for your health it could keep you warm, in scarves and hats for a long time or you could gift something hand made (like I do). I get enormous pleasure out of giving a hand made scarf, hat, blanket. My manicurist Aston told me last night how much she loves her moss stitch snood I made her for Christmas. "it's kept me so warm with this cold weather" she said. I worried that she didn't like it, how wrong was I?
And don't forget to keep leaving messages for other bloggers to encourage them, let them know you like their work and of course keep sharing your own work. So many bloggers have inspired me over the years, that's what I love about the blogging family.
