Finishing touches

It's feeling more like Christmas now that I have most of the presents and have written out my cards. I've still got to sew up a couple of pairs of knitted gloves and make one piece of bunting but still found some time to make personal gift tags using up some felt, buttons + ribbon. They are really simple but make the gift bags look special. Last year I made felted love hearts and knitted ones but I wanted to do something new this year.

My sister went to John Lewis this week and commented how expensive their little hand made items are so came home and made her own. Her button heart is lovely and similar ones cost around £10! I've found its getting more difficult to go into the high street to buy craft products but charity shops do a good line in buttons! Enjoy your Sunday whatever you get up to. Amanda x

Thanks Jo I'm quite pleased how they turned out. I posted the last of my cards today and I'm off shopping on Tuesday night with my mum. Well we plan to have dinner there too!

I have just come across your lovely blog i really enjoyed reading your posts. What a bargain getting 3 chilli plants for 20p each. i to still need to do my cards, i will get there in the end.

Denim Daisy Granny Square construction

And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. Just waiting for the cold spell so that I can wear it out (rather than around the garden when its cooled down in the evenings!). I haven't written a pattern as such just some helpful notes from my pad. If people want to know how to construct one have added some notes below. Feather & Fan scarf free knitting pattern

This month I'm getting ahead with gifts (dare I say it Christmas in July!) I had some fabulous merino DK yarn in my stash from Biffsugar Yarns in the colourway Waterlilly (225m per 100g) so I decided to knit a simple 4 row feather and fan scarf. The yarn is actually slightly heavier than DK (I think) so the scarf is knitting up beautifully and very soft, snuggly and bouncy.
