Oblong Granny Blanket

Here we are and almost finished withe my rectangular blanket, its big enough to share and I love it. Just one more row or two for the border and its ready to reveal next week along with a new pattern! It has a new name too but all will be revealed next week. The border will also include the new Stylecraft Special DK colour Cornish Blue oh and mustard of course.

The inspiration for my latest pattern came from the love of my first granny stripe blanket but I wanted something a little different. I love a big blanket, one to share is even better. Our holidays each year on the Norfolk Broads are fun, relaxing and give me extra crafting time. We always take a portable granny blanket stack and each year I design a new blanket for our holiday. The evenings can be chilly and what better way to relax in the evenings with a glass of chilled wine, wrapped in one of my latest creations, a big soft blanket to share.

my Gryer shawl update

I'm whizzing along the long rows and I've just finished the 5th colour. I really love how the colours I've chosen work so well together. Sometimes you choose colours and then when you knit them together they don't work as you had expected.

On this occasion it has worked just as I wanted it to and the back is just as pretty. Last night I started to add the final colour and then its finished!

I don't want to finish it because its been so much fun to knit but I have my next Gryer shawl already planned, I just need to purchase the yarn this week.

When this is finished it will be perfect for our holiday on the Broads later this month along with my rectangular granny blanket that I'm finishing next week. More about that in a separate post soon and don't forget you can follow my progress on my Instagram account.

Heart Granny Square Blanket

I’ve started a sweetheart granny blanket and I love it. I also love the way the two yarns work together to give the vintage feel I was looking for💗

Yarn: Cygnet DK (gifted by @knittingnetwork) Vintage Rose, Grey Mix, Bluebell, Barley
Yarn: @stylecraftyarns (from my yarn stash)  Mushroom, Pomegranate and to add Silver, Parma Violet, Pale Rose.

I couldn't put it down all weekend in between chores. The colours are making me so happy. Hoping to get this one finished for our Norfolk holiday at the end of May.

Glorious granny squares

I spent some of the weekend making more granny squares and joining together the ones I made ages ago. There is something quite satisfying about making these little squares. I have quite a lot of merino yarn left over from previous blankets and its a great way to experiment with colours. My husband commented that the first photo looks like a sweet shop! How very true it does.

Rectangular granny blanket

Is it oblong or rectangular? Not sure but people have told me its rectangular. Whatever you want to call it I'm loving these colours on my April Showers blanket and I'm writing the pattern notes as I go along so hopefully I can release the pattern over the Easter holiday weekend.

Here is a little progress from this weekend. My gorgeous project bag is gaining a lot of attention over on the Stylecraft Instagram account, they kindly re-posted my photo. Link for the Amazon page is on my Instagram account here

Gryer knitted shawl

I've been searching for ages for a simple yet stunning knitted shawl. I came across the Gryer shawl on an Instagram account last week and immediately bought the pattern.

You can find the pattern link here on Ravelry - I'm not advertising, I paid for my pattern but thought I'd share it because its great for all your knitters out there.

It all started with the yarn I purchased on Instagram from someone's yarn de-stash, oops. The colour is called Waterlilly. So I ordered the Evergreen colourway on Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday and I started using it last night. I decided on the Evergreen because after knitting the first section I noticed lots of flecks of green and purchased it hoping it would work. I shouldn't have been worried because it has worked beautifully.
