Denim Daisy Granny Square construction

And here it is all finished last Friday, just in time for a heat wave! Seriously I do love this jumper and it fits so well with a white t shirt underneath, jeans and flip flops. Just waiting for the cold spell so that I can wear it out (rather than around the garden when its cooled down in the evenings!). I haven't written a pattern as such just some helpful notes from my pad. If people want to know how to construct one have added some notes below. As you know the Daisy Granny Square is the design of Sue Pinner from her book  Granny Squares published 2013. I do love Sue's book, its packed with so many projects and ideas and the photos are beautiful. The daisy granny square pattern is quite addictive and you soon have a small pile of them in no time! I have an idea to make another one for the autumn in the same Debbie Bliss Rialto DK yarn but all edged in shade 90 honey, I have enough in my stash. Lets stay home and crochet

This is how my Sunday was looking, filled with colorful crochet, the best way to unwind and enjoy the sunshine in the garden. I raided my Debbie Bliss merino yarn stash, I have two bags full of left overs from previous blankets. I'm crocheting granny squares during the summer to make a blanket full of 100 squares. Its a great project to take to work for lunch breaks and in-car crochet. Maybe even for my holiday in Lake Como in September. Glorious granny squares

I spent some of the weekend making more granny squares and joining together the ones I made ages ago. There is something quite satisfying about making these little squares. I have quite a lot of merino yarn left over from previous blankets and its a great way to experiment with colours. My husband commented that the first photo looks like a sweet shop! How very true it does. My kind of Saturday Sunday morning vibes

Fiddly Bits (using up your yarn scraps)

January is a long cold month, Christmas is a distant memory and I find myself wishing for Spring to hurry up and make an entrance. I'm trying to be good, not spend too many pennies and not be tempted into buying more yarn (very hard!) So when I came across this pattern on Ravelry by accident it was the best find ever. Fiddly Bits by Hipknitizer. I have a whole box of yarn scraps I keep in my craft room and a bag in my loft, maybe some in my desk at work too! All Debbie Bliss Rialto DK merino yarn in yummy colours and this box was screaming out for a nifty project like this. All those colours, some discontinued from various granny square blanket projects all put to good use in a colorful cowl to keep me warm. All you do is knot them together, all those bits of  cut offs or end of ball and then knit to watch the stripes emerge. So easy but I did have to learn provisional cast on using a crochet hook, so I'm learning new things too.  Oh and kitchener stitch for the grafting of th...

Crochet cowel scarf

A scrummy Italian merino wool cowel scarf finished and ready for my Folksy shop.  I used Debbie Bliss Rialto DK prints with self stripe colour changes. Raspberry,  blue, grey, burgundy and off white give this cowel a vintage feel. 140cm of half treble crochet stitch, simple and effective for a soft merino yarn. I started back in October on the Norfolk Broads
