Eight-by-Six

Are you looking for a quick project to make for your mum, sister or friend. I recently made this one in about ten minutes and it such a lovely addition to a present. You can't beat hand made gifts, can you? I'm going to make lots of these in other colours, its not like I don't have lots of yarn in my stash. All you need to do is follow the pattern instructions for the tiny flower but using a 4mm hook and Scheepjes Stonewashed or any DK yarn you have in your stash. When you have completed 5 petals ss to close then chain 50. When you reach ch50 turn and sc (single crochet) into each chain of the previous row. This is like an i cord and can be used for a number of projects, including shoe laces! Once you start you won't want to stop. When you reach ch1 at the top simply ss to close. Sew in the ends and add a button if you want to. Once this actual gift has been gifted I'll post more photos on my Instagram account

I went shopping on Saturday morning, no yarn shops where I was shopping yet I managed to find some in a shop called Flying Tiger (it was previously called Tiger). Anyway I always pop in this shop because they have amazing craft stuff, very reasonably prices and that’s where it happened my accidental yarn purchase. 20 mini yarn balls later 😂 I got home and got to work on a little project especially for my son. He requested a flower gift tag for a friends present, well how could I say no! The pattern is sooo easy. Pattern instructions Using a 3.5mm hook chain 4 and join with a ss. C1, then (4) tr into the ring, (1) sc then (4) tr into the ring (1) sc until you have five petals, that's it! Bet you can't stop once you get going they are kind of addictive. Cute cotton balls

Yeah for the long Easter weekend full of tea drinking, chocolate eating and lots of knitting and crochet. The weather is going to be awful but I don't mind as I'll be surrounded by colour and warmth and a big granny blanket. I've just released my second pattern this month for the tea cosy, there is no stopping me! It combines my love of knitting and crochet together with a retro look! The inspiration for my tea cosy came from growing up as a kid in the 1970’s, surrounded by a colour palette of browns, orange and mustard that I didn’t appreciate at the time. We always visited my gran on a Sunday for tea and home made cake. She always had a knitted tea cosy and taught me to knit at an early age. I wasn’t that taken with knitting and my skills didn’t further develop until my son was born in 1992, a few garments frogged along the way (ask my husband about the first green jumper I knitted!!).
