Heart Granny Square Blanket

I’ve started a sweetheart granny blanket and I love it. I also love the way the two yarns work together to give the vintage feel I was looking for 💗 the start of my Heart Granny Square blanket Pattern credit: Sweetheart Granny Blanket by Sue @sweetpeafamilycrochet Yarn: Cygnet DK (gifted by @knittingnetwork) Vintage Rose, Grey Mix, Bluebell, Barley Yarn: @stylecraftyarns (from my yarn stash)  Mushroom, Pomegranate and to add Silver, Parma Violet, Pale Rose. I couldn't put it down all weekend in between chores. The colours are making me so happy. Hoping to get this one finished for our Norfolk holiday at the end of May. Glorious granny squares

I spent some of the weekend making more granny squares and joining together the ones I made ages ago. There is something quite satisfying about making these little squares. I have quite a lot of merino yarn left over from previous blankets and its a great way to experiment with colours. My husband commented that the first photo looks like a sweet shop! How very true it does. My kind of Saturday Sunday morning vibes

Rectangular granny blanket

Is it oblong or rectangular? Not sure but people have told me its rectangular. Whatever you want to call it I'm loving these colours on my April Showers blanket and I'm writing the pattern notes as I go along so hopefully I can release the pattern over the Easter holiday weekend. Here is a little progress from this weekend. My gorgeous project bag is gaining a lot of attention over on the Stylecraft Instagram account, they kindly re-posted my photo. Link for the Amazon page is on my Instagram account here   more colours added Cornish Blue

Gryer knitted shawl

I've been searching for ages for a simple yet stunning knitted shawl. I came across the Gryer shawl on an Instagram account last week and immediately bought the pattern. You can find the pattern link here  on Ravelry - I'm not advertising, I paid for my pattern but thought I'd share it because its great for all your knitters out there. love these speckles It all started with the yarn I purchased on Instagram from someone's yarn de-stash, oops. The colour is called Waterlilly. So I ordered the Evergreen colourway on Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday and I started using it last night. I decided on the Evergreen because after knitting the first section I noticed lots of flecks of green and purchased it hoping it would work. I shouldn't have been worried because it has worked beautifully. Evergreen

April Showers

It's April and the April showers (or down pours have hit us) I got drenched last night walking (running) back to my car after a quick supermarket shop. I couldn't wait to get home from work last and add some more rows (and dry off) I kept going until I was really sleepy and I slept so much better, probably dreaming about yarn and the next colours. Its really great working on another blanket not just for the colours but the warmth it provides whilst you work on it.  I've ordered some more colours I'm running out of and a new colour in the Stylecraft Special DK range called Cornish Blue. Can't wait to see it and start using it. I know I'm supposed to be using up my yarn but I saw the new Stylecraft Simply DK colour and just had to order it. With over 90 colours already in their colour chart its going to be a colourful month ahead. I buy my yarn from Lusciously Loopy  You can keep up with my progress over on my Instagram and FaceBook page.

Oblong Granny Blanket

I decided to work on my neglected oblong granny blanket. Its a great way to use up yarn, I have so much Stylecraft Special DK and I miss having a blanket to work on. So whilst I wait for my yarn delivery for my Gryer shawl to arrive this is what I will be working on. Its turned cold again and I miss having a blanket on my lap whilst watching tv, great way to keep warm and use up yarn! You can see my progress over on my Instagram account this month.
