Granny's Jumper

I started a new jumper on Saturday, its been on my wish list for ages now. The pattern is by Cassie Ward and in issue 96 of Inside crochet and its called Granny's Jumper. I had a digital subscription for a year which is handy because all the past patterns are always with me including this one. So I raided my Stylecraft Special Dk bag of oddments left over from previous blanket designs. Came in very handy! I've decided to join them with the colour Mustard and have used this in the 2nd round. The granny square motif is made up of six rounds then joined with two rounds of the main colour before assembling and adding rows and sleeves. I hope your week is filled with gorgeous yarn and crochet. I'm also working on a new denim large granny square blanket made in Debbie Bliss Rialto DK Heathers range. Luckilly I bought 12 balls when it was on sale at a local craft shop in Canterbury. Just love the way the denim makes the other colours pop. I pla

Colour Block granny square blanket

It's a lovely sunny day which is better than all the rain we had in the night. This week I'm busy writing up my pattern for release this weekend, I finished the blanket on Tuesday night. I can't tell you how pleased I was to finish it. I was a little later due to being ill for two weeks in January and loosing my crochet mojo. But its back in full swing now! People ask me a lot do I plan the colours, the borders? I don't really plan ahead I just let things happen. I do write down notes as I'm going along, it helps me so much when I do come to write up the pattern and tutorial. I enjoy the whole process. And I think about colour all day so sometimes ideas pop into my head whilst I'm out and about. The border worked out exactly how I wanted it, the texture is great and the colours bring out the previous ones used in the colour sequence. The size is around 110cm I'll measure it for the pattern and add one of new wooden logos (so exited to recieve them).

knitted merino stripey cowl tube

Thank you for all your interest in my striped cowl over on my Instagram account. Here is the very simple pattern. Later this month I will add the written pattern to my Loveknitting and Etsy shops with some picture instructions. If you start now you could make one for Mothers Day in the UK. Things you need: gather up your DK yarn scraps, scissors, 4mm circular knitting needs 50cm and a cup of tea/coffee. Yarn: I've used Debbie Bliss Rialto DK and made mine into 100g balls. I'm not sure how many I used. As I'm knitting another one I am taking notes on the amount used in 100g balls. So far I've made 2 and have only used part of one. Cast on 90 to 100 stitches. My first test cowl used 90 stitches and fits me perfectly because the merino yarn does stretch a little. My second cowl I've cast on 98 stitches and knitted one round then before I join in the round I knit the first two stitches together. Continue to knit every row until your knitted tube
